Skate Ski Packages - Skate Skiing Ski Sets
Whether you are just getting into skate skiing or you are a proficient skate ski racer, a skate ski package is a simple way to purchase a ski, boot, binding, and pole that goes together. Choosing the right skate ski package is important, and your selection will depend upon how much you expect to ski cross country, what your budget is, and what performance level you desire. Our skate ski package are divided up into race-performance skate ski packages, mid-level and entry level skate ski sets. The performance-race ski sets features the top of the line skate skis including the Rossignol X-ium WCS 2, the Fischer RCS Carbonlite Hole or the Salomon Equipe 10 Lab. These skate skis will give you a skate ski that is lightweight, great swing weight, fast base and superior construction. The better the quality the ski the better handling, performance and ultimately the better experience you will have. When you venture into a mid-level skate ski package such as the Rossignol mid-level or the Salomon mid-level ski set you will have slightly heavier skis that require a bit more energy due to the increased swing weight and construction of the ski. The mid-level skate skis our our ski packages include the Rossignol delta course, the Rossignol delta NIS or the Salomon Equipe 9 skate. The entry level skate ski package is great for beginners. These skis are less expensive, but performance is not as good, in that the skis are a bit heavier. Our entry level ski packages features the Rossignol Znex, Rossignol Zmax, the Fischer CRS Skating, and the Salomon Active 8 skate ski.
Skate Ski Packages - Boots, Bindings, Poles
The performance-race ski package features the highest quality skate boots that offer the best stability, fit and lightness for all the skate boots on the market. The mid-level and entry-level skate boots are a bit heavier and softer, offering slightly less support and control, but increased comfort and warmth. Ski poles differ in their shaft construction, lightness, stiffness and grips. A high end race pole will be super light, with straps that will provide excellent power transfer. Sometimes, however the high end skate poles tend to be a bit fragile. Some save the top of the line ski poles for race days and go for a more mid-level ski pole for every day training. The less expensive skate poles will have less carbon in the shaft, resulting in a heavier pole, increased swing weight, and thus more effort will be required to swing the poles. But these poles may be more durable. Skate ski bindings are either top of the line race bindings or a more mid-level binding. Differences mainly are in weight. Skate ski sizing is determined based upon the skier's weight, not so much height. See the sizing charts to determine the appropriate size for you. Ski sizing is based upon flex.
